SAFETY PILOT COURSE
As a new committee, we are trying to introduce some fresh ideas and courses to our club. One of the suggestions that we would like to implement immediately is this excellent suggestion, "TheSafety Pilot Course".

Safety Pilot

Aimed primarily at people who regularly accompany pilots on flying trips, students of the Safety Pilot Course are taught the basics of piloting so that in extreme circumstances, the student may maintain control of the aircraft and return it safely.

For more information please don't hesitate to contact us. paulwgarnham@hotmail.com
The course consists of approximately 5 hours of training (all of which is conducted from the right hand seat) covering the following:

Aircraft Familiarisation, Effects of controls, Straight and Level flight, Climbing, descending & turning, Circuits & Landing, Slow flight, stall and recognition, Basic Navigation, Forced Landing, Emergency Procedures & Consolidation of Training.

We would welcome any other suggestions/ideas/concerns or feedback that will help us try and move your club forward positively.

Always sounded like a good idea to me, although as previous posters have said the cost of the flying would be prohibitive for many......

How many hours would you suggest we make the course? Any ideas at all welcome. What about other courses?

I guess this is why the club needs to have a look at all the offerings on the airfield ...you can be solo on a 3-axis microlight for that kind on money !
